UNAOC’s #SpreadNoHate initiative aims to prevent and counter hate speech and the negative portrayal of migrants and refugees in traditional and new media by promoting constructive dialogue on hate speech among media professionals, academia, and relevant NGOs

The session will introduce participants to UNAOC’s #SpreadNoHate initiative, which has promoted constructive dialogue about hate speech among media professionals and allowed them to share best practices on ways to counter it. The event will include small-group discussions allowing participants to benefit from one another’s’ experiences and perspectives and leave the session with new ideas on ways to combat hate speech against migrants and refugees in traditional and new media.
